President
Hey! I’m Diya from OPS! For the past two years, I led my middle school’s Operation Smile Team! This year, I’m so excited to spread more initiative through San Mateo High School, and it is so exciting that we’re going to do such wonderful things! Here’s a little bit about myself: I am a professional ramen-eater and Netflix binge-watcher! Also, I absolutely kant tell you how much I love philosophy and listening to old music! If you see me, I’m probably devouring an unhealthy amount of Sylvia Plath literature!

Hiiii! I'm Sam or Samuel NDB. I'm a professional coffee drinker and an amateur songwriter. I love helping people and turning people's frowns upside down. This club is so friendly and enjoyable to be in but my main reason for joining was just to boost people's confidence. I joined to get the message of "SMILE!!!" across. I think it is beautiful that high schoolers come together to warm a heart. I just wanted to be part of this movement :).

Hello! My name is Anika Shah, and I am so excited to be a part of Operation Smile! I love to be outside, whether it be playing sports, hiking, or just enjoying the fresh air. I am so grateful for all that I have, but never realized how blessed I was to simply smile, until my friend introduced me to Operation Smile. I love to smile, and want to give EVERYONE the ability to do so as well!

Hello, friends! I'm Anya and I joined Operation Smile because I have always loved bringing smiles to people's faces! The club, itself, is an amazingly friendly one supporting a great cause. When I'm not at an OPS meeting, you can find me eating spicy food, jamming out at my piano, or watching a Korean drama :D

Salutations! I am Sarah! I have joined Operation Smile at SMHS this year again so that I can continue working to help all those kids who are dying to just be able to smile. I love the beautiful smiles everyone has, and I really want to make sure those who aren't able to simply smile! Oh by the way, I am a professional procrastinator and a coffee addict. If you ever happen to be somewhat a close friend of mine, you will eventually also find out how I just over exaggerate about almost every little problem! You know, it just be like that sometimes(this is another phrase I might annoy you with).

Hey there! I’m Samantha and this is my first time joining OPS! I decided to join Operation Smile this year to help others and try something new. Also because I love seeing others smile! I absolutely love music and I have been playing the piano for a few years now. I also like to make it known that I am a proud Scooby-Doo fanatic!!

Hello! I’m Angela! I wanted to Join OPS to do something fun and try something new. I remember seeing people in OPS from my middle school doing activities for the club, so this year I decided to join and see how I can help. Something about me is that I enjoy art and playing the violin and viola.

Hello! I am Alejandra! I am the treasurer here at OPS. I wanted to join OPS because it is such a great community, and people there are so including. It is also a great way to help people and making them smile! I like to play soccer and watch Netflix. Currently I am watching “That 70’s Show,” and I really like it! I also love my friends, and I am beyond excited to make new ones :)

I feel that I can relate to operation smile as I feel that a simple smile or being happy and others in difficult times! A little about me: I'm a dance lover and I want to do everything to make my art known! I love to hike, swim, and spend time with my family. I'm a chocolate addict and if I say so myself a professional baker! I look forward to making a difference and hope that many people will join us in our quest!

Hello there! I'm Erin. I wanted to join OPS this year because it's a win/win/win opportunity for me: I get to hang out with my friends, create neat things, and I get to make a positive difference for other people while I'm at it. There was basically no reason not to join. As for me- I consume a very healthy and balanced diet of eclectic music, violently crumpled paper, and moldy pumpkins. I may or may not have a secret collection of banana slug merchandise.

Hello everyone! My name is Tamanna Suria, and I am so excited to finally join Operation Smile. I have gone to a few meetings in the past, and as part of Student Council in 8th grade, I helped out with the big hot chocolate fundraiser. Now that I have more free time, I look forward to working with everyone and raising money to help children with a cleft lip. This cause is absolutely amazing, and I am so glad to be a part of it!

Hi, I’m Sakura! As you can probably guess by my name, I’m from Japan. I am a very lazy person. I am mostly parallel to the ground since I am too slothful to stand up. The reason why I wanted to join Operation Smile is that my friend was planning on joining this club. I also thought that joining this club would be a good way to communicate with my peers and to help people in need. I hope that our actions will bring more happiness to the world.
ABOUT US
Hi there! We're San Mateo High School's Operation Smile Club! We are trying to raise money, initiative, and smiles throughout our community. Every 3 minutes, a child is born with some form of cleft lip or cleft palate. In many cases, this cleft lip could take lives. Our goal under the branch of Operation Smile (the global nonprofit, operationsmile.org) is to bring clean, safe, surgery to places in the world that otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it!
We are a small team that is trying to bring smiles to the world. If you are a student at SMHS, we would be so happy if you could join us!
